26 Jan 2006:

Hello All!

We are winding down and packing up to go home. We are so very grateful to all of you for the support we received during our deployment. I hope that all of you continue to support the brave men and women that are out here and everywhere serving our great nation. Our time here will never be forgotten and neither will the individuals we have become acquainted with. Words cannot express our gratitude.

Many thanks and blessings to everyone…

Greetings to all,

We continue to be in awe of the outpouring of support from you. It means a great deal to us. This is the first Christmas away from home for most of us. I registered on anysailor to keep the morale high for my staff during this deployment and provide them with any needed items that are unavailable to us. I can say that we have been successful in this. I cannot express in words how especially grateful we are to you. We thank you, we thank you, we thank you. Here is a group picture from our thanksgiving party and a picture of our new “support board.” Keep brushing and flossing……

Merry Christmas,

Here are a few snapshots from our Halloween party. We had a blast thanks to all your support. Several fellow marines and sailors came to join us in the fun.

We’ve received some funny pictures of supporters flossing. Keep sending them our way. Our patients get a kick out of seeing this! We have had to create an even bigger board to post pictures and cards that come to us. We want to share your kind words and appreciation with all who come into our clinic. The servicemen/women light up when they see our support board. Thank you.

We’d like to extend a very special thanks to the students and faculty of Brewster High! You guys are the greatest.

Hello everyone. Time is flying by and we are keeping a steady pace with patients. We are always grateful for your continued support. We have an unusual request for pictures of yourselves flossing. We will post pictures on our support board for our patients to see. This will add a humorous touch to our clinic and reinforce the need for flossing. If our patients see funny pictures of our supporters flossing, maybe they’ll remember to do the same. Thanks!

We want to say hello to everyone (big and small) writing letters to us. A special thanks goes to the students of Gorman School District and Cinnaminson Middle School! We love to hear about where you all come from and what you like to do every day. We have posted your pictures on our big support board. You should be receiving letters from us in the mail pretty soon. Thanks for your support, guys and gals!

Hello all,

Here are a few pictures of our staff in action.

The clinic is beaming with excitement from reading letters and opening support packages. We almost have a complete library of books of all kinds. Thanks, because we love James Patterson and Steven King. We have a “support board” displaying the pictures we have received. There are now shelves in our clinic dedicated to providing servicemen with baby wipes, shampoo or anything else they may need. We do have a request for phone cards, board games and dvd’s. Every now and then, we try to have a movie night for everyone. With all the food we have received, we now have a need for plastic containers. Thanks again, everyone.

Anysailor.com,

Our clinic is so appreciative of all the support we have received. We are going to have a great Halloween party with all the candy and decorations! The books and crossword puzzles help fill our down time. Thanks to everyone who sends encouraging words and love to our unit. We try to send a thank you note or email to all that have contacted us. We now have plenty of toothpaste and toothbrushes. We are able to distribute the extras to our patients. As a matter of fact, anything we have an abundance of, we pass on to the servicemen and women that come through our clinic.

We are heading into a cooler season in the desert, and we welcome the lower temperatures. Our hearts will always be warmed by the sentiments of our fellow Americans who think enough of us to support any sailor. We thank you.

Hello everyone!

Here is a picture of a few members of our team.

I am a dental officer with several technicians. We run an efficient clinic and work very hard to make sure our Marines are dentally ready for the mission. One of my techs is a pretty good carpenter and has created a good working environment for us. The landscape is rather drab and our clinic could use colorful posters or anything to help decorate the place. Our structure is made of a metal, and we'd rather not put nails in it. Anything that can be taped to the wall is good.
Our team has become a "family." Several members of our team will celebrate birthdays while we are here, and we will be here through all the major holidays. I feel it is my duty as their leader to make this deployment as bearable as possible for them. I am always trying to find ways to keep morale high in our clinic. One way I'd like to do this is by celebrating the upcoming holidays as if we were at home. Home for us is North Carolina.
For Halloween, I'd like to give them small bags of assorted candy. There is not much candy to choose from here. Any birthday cards, board games, holiday decorations, or even a small christmas tree would be great. My techs are all in their early 20's and would feel better about Christmas away from home.
Our group always needs hand sanitizer, baby wipes, lotion, shaving cream, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, cotton swabs, sunblock(spf 40+), envelopes(no stamps), loose leaf paper, and any paperback books(old or new). We do have a couple of females who will need feminine hygiene products.
Any support would be more than appreciated. Any extra we have will be passed to another service member who needs it.
I thank you on behalf of our entire crew. Keep brushing and flossing!

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!

Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!

Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.

Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor if your package is for a female!

DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"

(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.

(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.

(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan. You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)

New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
