29 May 2006:
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know I’m on my way off-station so you can pull me off your page or whatever it is you do. Thank you so much for the perpetual morale boost – this page was a lifesaver at mail call and those haze gray days. Thank you again and again. V/R, MC3 (AW) Sarah Foster
26 Apr 2006 Hey all! Thank you so much for your letters and packages! I think I’ve responded to nearly all letters I’ve received, if I haven’t shame on me and please try again. I love hearing from the “outside world” even if it’s just an update on the new grandkids or how the weather is in upper New York State. I really only get time to write letters on Sundays and even then our schedule can get pretty cramped running around with distinguished visitors or filming interviews for the news stories we send out to AFN. Below are some links of stories I’ve put together. I love my job; and public relations portion and the interaction with people all over the ship is by far the best part in my opinion. The video editing is a close second though… http://www.news.navy.mil/management/videodb/player/video.aspx?id=6898 http://www.news.navy.mil/management/videodb/player/video.aspx?id=6696 So that’s a sample! If I get any more links I’ll be sure to attach so you can check them out. I just started a new diet, 2 months ‘til cruise is over, final surge to get those last stubborn pounds off before we hit the beach again. I’d love some slimfast (chocolate flavor, of course) and Luna bars… mmm… oo! And packets of tuna – finding a sink to drain the juices from a can is a task and a half. Thank you all so much, you’re life (and waist) savers! Keep the letters coming, I love to hear from y’all. Sailor Sally V/R, PH3 Sarah Foster Staff Writer/Ship's Photographer/Videographer/Ass't RPPO
01 Apr 2006 Thank you everyone so much for your letters and packages! I know it’s been awhile but I finally caught up on my correspondence this past week. I really appreciate the time and energy it takes to write to someone you’ve never met. Sometimes I lose sight of why exactly I joined the service but with every note, Valentines Day card and box of q-tips you all helped me remember why I’m here; to serve my country and make sure that on my watch, you can sleep easy. Our Cruise is about 50% over and I couldn’t be happier. Since being underway we’ve visited Australia, Singapore and Dubai and there are still more countries, continents even, before we arrive home in three months. the traveling has been fantastic but still doesn’t compare to curling up on your OWN couch in your OWN fuzzy slippers, reading a book and knitting a never-ending scarf. So needless to say again but I will; thank you guys so much. I will never be able to fully portray how much your kind gestures have meant to me. keep writing; I promise my turnaround on a letter will get better! With Respect; PH3 Sarah Foster (Sally)
12 Feb 2006 Hello all! I’d like to begin by thanking you so much for allowing me to sign up for your program. I have received an abundance of packages from wonderful people all over the states because they found me via you. Attached are some photos of myself and friends in Brisbane, AUS doing the 8K Fun Run and me and my friend Angie right after my promotion ceremony. They’re both kinda silly photos and isn’t really the equivalent of a soldier sitting in the middle of a desert, but they’re all I have! We no longer need q-tips...up to my ears in them (no pun intended) and Neutrogena face wash is also flowing freely. Thank you for your time! V/R, PH3 Sarah Foster
16 Jan 2006 Hello All. I was recommended this site by my friend Ruth Goldberg. I am a female sailor on board USS Ronald Reagan who is currently on her maiden voyage on the usual WestPac route. Being a female in the armed forces is difficult enough, but being on board a ship for six months straight with no solid ground for 45 days can get a mite trying. Our living conditions aren't too shabby in comparison to some soldier and marines. We have racks but it's a warship so it's not expected to be too comfortable. Comfort leads to complacency. But getting down to business... i am representing my shop, the Photo Lab, or at least the few people that want to participate. As for requests, it's hard to find decent healthy snacks on board so almonds, dried fruit, etc are always nice. White t-shirts(M), sports bras(M), black socks, q-tips, neutrogena face wash, disposable cameras, polaroid film, stamps. For the male (an artist) colored pencils, acid free drawing paper, gushers, good books, shampoo, a dvd called "monster garage" (discovery channel). Small luxeries unattainable at sea! Thank you very much for letting us volunteer as contacts; if you need/want any Ronald Reagan merchandise, please let us know. Thank you!

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!
Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!
Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.
Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor
if your package is for a female!
DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"
(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.
(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.
(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan.
You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)
New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.
(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.
(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.
(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)
(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".
(
Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.
(
Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now)
(Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
