15 Sep 2006:
Hello, I realized it’s been a month since I last wrote, so I figured I better say hi to let everyone know we are still doing well. We have roughly a month left, and I want to let everyone know we are still so thankful for all the support. We have a new addition to the depot- a puppy! If anybody wants to send any dog supplies that would be awesome since we can’t get any out here. We feed him galley food, and it’s not agreeing with him-he might have worms. He is a really healthy dog otherwise but if anybody can send any worm medicine and anti flea stuff we would be forever grateful. The dogs really get abused here, so if we can at least help one out it’s good. Thank you all again!! V/r, SK3(SCW/UW) Abigail E. Malchow
12 Aug 2006 Hello, I want to give everybody an update on how we’re doing. We are all good, but trying to stay motivated is pretty difficult lately. It’s hard not to think about going home!!! But we have to stay dedicated to the mission, and the support we get from all of you keeps us going. It serves as a reminder that what we do is appreciated and recognized-so thank you again very much!! Our requests stay the same, and the birds are growing in number every day. It’s amazing-we have babies too. We are building a DVD library so that the guys after us have entertainment, if anyone has any DVD’s to send that would be great. God bless you all, and thanks again. V/r, SK3(UW) Abigail E. Malchow
15 Jul 2006
Hello, I just wanted to let everyone know we are still alive and kickin’ over here. I have included a recent picture of our hard working supply team. They enjoy the snacks people send so much sometimes they don’t leave any for me! Things stay chaotic, but we are well. The heat isn’t all that bad, but I think we are all just used to it now. I want to say thanks again to the people that support and continue to support us. Take care and God Bless! P.S. If anybody is unsure of what to donate to the cause, snacks are a winner. Summer seems to be bringing a larger than normal appetite here. Also, birdseed and reading material would be awesome too. Thank You! V/r, SK3(UW) Abigail E. Malchow
24 Jun 2006 Hi! First I want to say how awesome this website is-it really is addicting. We are proud to be a part of it. Everyone has been really sick here (bad fish at the DFAC the other day) so life is pretty miserable until we all get better. The water was shut off for the women on our camp, so now we have to “borrow” the male trailer for two hours a day. Hopefully it will be up soon. We have also been getting a lot more birds at work now that we’ve been setting out little bowls of water. We like taking care of the birds, so if anyone would like to send birdfood or maybe even some kind of birdbath to work with that would be awesome!! I want to say thanks again for everyone I represent-we are so grateful! Take care and God Bless! V/r, SK3(UW) Abigail E. Malchow
07 Jun 2006 Hello, I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of all of us ladies here. I have been receiving a lot of letters which is great, it keeps me busy in my free time writing everyone back. The packages we’ve received have gone quickly-somebody is always happy receiving something!! It helps keep our mind off the miserable heat and brightens our day. Thank you all for being so generous and thoughtful-may God Bless you and your families. V/r, SK3(UW) Abigail E. Malchow
30 May 2006 Hello, Here is a picture of all of us ladies, we thought it would be a good addition since it’s a fun picture. We look forward to hearing from everyone. Happy Memorial Day! V/r, SK3(UW) Abigail E. Malchow
24 May 2006 Address has changed To Whom It May Concern, Hello, my name is SK3 Abigail Malchow and I needed to make a correction on my page. I apologize for the inconvenience. Also, I included a picture of myself. V/r, SK3(UW) Abigail E. Malchow
23 May 2006 Hi, my name is Abby and I am stationed with NMCB 40 in Fallujah Iraq. I've been in the Navy almost five years and have two roomates who are still fairly new to the military. I work in Supply and I'm the only female in my workplace. I'm writing mostly for the girls because we have a hard time getting some basic hygiene products out here. Hair care is pretty difficult sometimes because the PX usually runs out of supplies for caucasian women quickly. We just need the basics sometimes including lotion as well. It's great to have magazines for us women too-since we don't have TV it gives us something to get our mind off of things. The magazines here are aimed for the guys and never for the ladies-it's frustrating. If anyone wants to write and be pen pals that would be awesome too, we enjoy writing and making new frinds. Thanks in advance for the support and encouragement!!

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!
Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!
Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.
Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor
if your package is for a female!
DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"
(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.
(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.
(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan.
You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)
New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.
(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.
(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.
(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)
(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".
(
Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.
(
Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now)
(Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
