05 Jun 2008:
Hello, My name is PS3(AW) Tampasis and I am stationed out of San Diego, CA but I am from Central Illinois. Right now I am in Kandahar, Afghanistan for a full year. I have been in the Navy (Active Duty) for 6 years. I do like it here and we live in buildings that we call MODs. I work with the Army Admin Office (S1 for those of you who know army names) the Army people I work with are from a guard unit out NY. The Air Force personnel I work with are Active duty from different places across the US. It has been very interesting experience working with the different branches like I have been the past few months. It is very hot here since it is becoming summer here and gets up in the 100s by the afternoon. The evenings are pretty warm as well. For the past few months they have been doing Salsa lessons and I have been trying to learn it. It helps get your mind off of here a little and it is a lot of fun and a pretty good work out as well. For were we live it isn’t too bad we live in 4 man rooms. Right now there are 3 of us that live in my room. In my room we have a Navy female, an Army female and myself. We all get a long pretty well. We have a refrigerator and a microwave in our room (which has been a lifesaver more then once when they have not so good food at the chow hall). My work place isn’t too bad I must say. I work in a White building we call the White House. We have a lot of Convoys that come through here to put stuff up and drop off. So there is always a lot of traffic coming in and out of our building. We even have some Marines that work here as well. So as you can see I work with every branch one way or another which is pretty cool sometimes. I have learned all about the Army awards since I am the awards person. I have learned a good amount about AF awards but for the most part all I do is Army. It is very very very busy all the time let me tell you. My job never ends it feels like. In our off we have a refrigerator and a microwave. That refrigerator is our lifesaver because we keep our water in there and after going out and doing the mail all you want is that nice cold water. Also when people come in they always want something to drink and we have it here waiting for them as well. If you would like to send anything I think flavor for water is much much needed because we always go through them. Also sunflower seeds, baby wipes (we use porta potties need I say more), hand sanitizer and well what ever you feel someone here would like. I sit out the boxes for the teams when they come in and the can pick up what ever they want. Everyone here can’t think you enough for the support you show when you send us letters and boxes of stuff. It has made someone’s day more times then I can think of. So thank you very much it is nice to know you are supported by people back at home. You all make a difference here when you send something doesn’t matter what it is. So I say think you on behalf of everyone here who takes something out the boxes you send. Have a great day and thank you for your support!!! V/R, PS3(AW) Tampasis

Hello, My name is PS3(AW) Tampasis and I am stationed out of San Diego, CA but I am from Central Illinois. Right now I am in Afghanistan for the next year though. I have been in for 6 years and enjoying it so far. I do like it here so far and we live in buildings. I work with the army admin office (S1 for those of you who know army names) which they are a guard unit out of S.C. and NY. My roommates (which is myself and 2 Navy females) and we have a refrigerator and a microwave as do we have in our office). We do have laundry facilities here were we do it ourselves. I always have a lot of convoy groups from smaller bases come in here for one thing or another. So snacks, dryer sheets, movies, and anything you feel like the solders would like to have. Everyone here will very much appreciate whatever you send. Thank you very much and for all the support you are giving. It means a lot even if it takes a while to get back to you I am doing my best to write back just it's really busy here. You have helped cheer up at least 1 person with the boxes and letters you send. I give them out to people when the drive through here. I cannot thank you enough for all the support you give. I know I keep repeating myself but it really does mean a lot. Thank you. Take care and be safe!!!!! V/R, PS3(AW) Tampasis

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!
Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!
Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.
Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor
if your package is for a female!
DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"
(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.
(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.
(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan.
You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)
New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.
(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.
(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.
(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)
(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".
(
Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.
(
Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now)
(Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
