27 Sep 2008:

We'll I just got back to the base and all I can say is wow there were a lot of packages. I'd like to thank everyone that donated the kids stuff we actually got to take it on a drop and give it to the local village so I'm attaching a few pictures. I'll be leaving shortly to redeploy back to the states, and it's been a great 15 months thanks everyone that sent something. I just want everyone to know that I've appreciated the support that you've shown us, we've enjoyed everything that was sent and had a few laughs because of it.

Well it's another beautiful day here in Afghanistan and there's a few people that I'd like to thank. Mr. Doug Contri for sending the box of stuffed animals and the drink mix the kids out here loved it especially when they come into medical from an injury.

I'd also like to thank Marle Foxon for sending the coloring books and school supplies, that stuff is like gold out here.

I'll get pictures out as soon as I can.

Again thank you all for your support while we're deployed.

Yeah to say the least it's been busy out here I've been traveling from FOB to FOB and just got back. We're doing pretty good it's getting hotter out here so the single packets of crystal light drink mix's for water would be great drinking six to eight bottles a day to stay hydrated gets a little old when it's not flavored. We're also working on this program out here called Operation Outreach we provide medical attention to the Afghans and give them clothes, toys, coloring books, school supplies (nothing religious in nature). Like I said things are going great out here we're keeping our morale up and trucking on with work. I'd like to thank the people that send stuff while I was gone I didn't get to write since the box's were open and distributed but we appreciate everything you send.

V/R,

SK1 Jeramiah Davidson

Dear Kimberly F. and Eau Gallie High School,

First off let me say that the Soldiers, Sailors, and Airforce enjoyed your letters and cards. I know school is about to be out so we're replying this way rather than writing back via paper mail. Again Thankyou for your support it brought a smile to some of the guys and ladies that were having a bad day.

Very Respectfully,

Jeremy Davidson

Cathy Burkett I'd like to thank you and the ladies of the Thimbleberries group for your continued support to the troops out here in Afghanistan we always enjoy the items you send us.

Respectfully,

Jeremy

I'd like to thank the three individuals that sent packages and would like to remain anonymous. The food was a refreshing change and the toys will be given to the Afghan children on our next trip to the village.

Very Respectfully,

Jeramiah Davidson

The majority of us at our location live in what we call B-Huts(plywood shelters) wich house up to 24 Sailors, Soldiers, and Airmen. So at any time there is usually 2 people per makeshift room plywood walls that go up to about six feet high and a poncho liner(blanket)for a door.

Everything on base is run off of 110 electricity and the local Afghan nationals have a laundry service to wash our clothes so please don't send detergent or fabric softner our laundry is taken off base to be clean.

We have a crockpot out here so whenever we get the ingredients we make dumplings, rice and whatever else we can get our hands on. We have coffee pots so coffee would be great ground if possible we don't have a coffee grinder. We have a microwave and refrigerator so you can also send microwaveable foods, soup, and can goods.

DVD's and music are always welcome it doesn't mater what you send someone will watch or listen whatever you give us our bunch is an eclectic group.

Here's a list of some of the things they mentioned that would be nice since it's hard to get out here.

Men:
Gillette sensitive skin shave cream
Nitro Tech and Cell Tech Hardcore
Degree deoderant
protien bars
Soap and shampoo liquid if possible the bars get really dirty out here with the dust and dirt
Workout magazines or Maxim
Ankle socks white 9-13
pistachios, trail mix, nuts, seeds

Female:
Garnier fructis 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
Feminen Hygiene products
Sun Screen
Deoderant
Wash sponges for liquid soap
twin sheets and pillow cases brown or tan

Again we appreciate your support and anything you send would be great to help with the moral and welfare of the troops serving out here in Afghanistan.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!

Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!

Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.

Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor if your package is for a female!

DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"

(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.

(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.

(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan. You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)

New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
