13 Nov 2008:
To Whom This May Concern, I wanted to pull our site off the website soon, granted if items come here they will be put to great use by the incoming FST crew I just cannot promise that someone will keep up the "thank you's" after I leave here! We are turning over in late December, supposedly, unless we get stuck here a little longer! We have truly appreciated the unending and unlimited support we have received here at our Firebase. We have been able to share items with the children, the patients, our coalition and US forces, etc. Very Respectfully, LTJG Rachel Engler "Life is not tried, it is merely survived, if you're standing outside the fire…"
05 Aug 2008 Do not need at the moment... -Please don't send anymore crayons/colored pencils for now, we have LOTS thanks to the donations sent! -Have plenty of sunscreen, chapstick and disposable razors -Need loofahs and bodywash (I know that sounds crazy, but it is for the guys when they come back from their missions here...you have never seen men so dirty and they are able to scrub clean using those items the easiest, after a few showers of course! -Could use more beanie baby type toys to give the children who come in, they love those. -Coming toward winter time we do need more winter type clothing, gloves/scarves/etc, need for [local national] children, adults and adolescents both male and female please -For troops here, to-go drink mixes are useful for the amount of bottled water needed to stay hydrated. Foot spray (many of the guys prefer the foot spray instead of the powder); deodorent for men needed as well (as stated in my original there is no Px here or post office, so our location is difficult to supply from outside sources) -Could use coffee creamers, the little things can make a morning. -Movies (DVDtype used on laptops) are always appreciated. We use them to keep from going insane, and the guys love to have something to sit and stare at after their missions :) -Soups (like the cupasoup/soupinhands) will be great for wintertime and when the food here can't get any worse. We share items that we recieve with the local nationals, our Medevac crew/Helo-guys/PJs (Parajumpers) as well as with our Special Forces counterparts, so know that all items are going to great use! Sometimes those items can make someone's day :) especially for my guys that aren't married/no family to send care packages. Our FST wants to take care of our own and the other folks on our compound here.
16 Jun 2008 Living in concrete rooms w/cement ceilings floors, no windows(similar to prison cell) The elec goes out often, 1 phone shared w/the special forces guys, limited internet, have adapted plugs for 220. Have laundry machines but provide our own detergent, no Px here on our fire base. One dining fac w/microwave, no other cooking ability. Have 1 coffee maker in our FST. I'm representing my Forward Surgical Team. We are half Air Force(9) and half Navy (7). We are from all different parts of the US and different parent commands. Females have PLENTY of feminine supplies, but other girly items would be appreciated if available. We are VERY remote, and supply and packages take a long time to get to here due to being with CJSOTF-A. We only have what we brought with us and had so much combat gear we did not have much room for personal comforts. Fun scrub caps would be nice, instead of wasting disposable ones. Clothing wise, our women are on the smaller side, xsmall to medium, men are from med-large. We have enough uniform supplies; any workout clothes and gel boot inserts would be appreciated since we could only pack so much, and if we're not working that's what we do! Movies, games, there is no MWR. We do humanitarian missions in town or on our compound, need: Clothing, shoes, toys for children especially! We cut off clothing of local nationals when they come in trauma(often) so we need child/adult clothing/shoes when and if they leave here. We have a mix of ranks but fairly narrow, from E-4 to O-4. Some are married with children, some single, some dating. I do understand others may need you more than us too! I'm a 24yo LTJG in the Navy. I'm an ICU nurse from National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and been working with OIF/OEF injured for the past 3 years. My boyfriend is a US Marine and was badly injured in Iraq in Oct 2006. I can't thank God and you all enough for making it easier for us to be away from home. Jer29:11

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!
Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!
Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.
Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor
if your package is for a female!
DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"
(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.
(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.
(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan.
You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)
New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.
(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.
(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.
(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)
(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".
(
Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.
(
Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now)
(Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
