25 Dec 2011:
Merry Christmas everyone. We had a mail call 2 days before Christmas and we received a few packages and a bunch of Christmas cards from you guys. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!! It was great to get some love from "home" and it really raised our spirits. Thank you for all of the Christmas decorations and Christmas lights they really made a positive impact on the crew's morale. It was a little rough for some being away from home but you guys made it a lot better.

We have a few more months before we are back home. Everything you guys have sent has been greatly appreciated. All the books that you guys sent are awesome and we now have a fully stocked library. Keep the cliff bars, power bars, pop corn and drink mix coming. I never heard of Poppycock popcorn until a couple of weeks ago but that seems to be the favorite thing around here, so if you find any of that send it our way if you can.

Lastly the nice to have things would be DVD movies, XBOX 360 games (new or used)as we are still trying to build up our games/movie collection on the ship. For stuff that was been worn down for us include sun glasses, under armor type compression shirts (M-L)/shorts(S-L), or loose exercise
shirts (M-L)/shorts(S-L).

Thanks again to all of your support for this ship during this
deployment. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and continue to enjoy your holiday season.

Hi Everyone, we just past the ½ way point of the ship’s maiden deployment and I wanted to say thank you to all who have sent letters and care packages. Thank you so much for everything you guys are great!! Thank you for all of your Thanksgiving greetings; it’s so nice to hear from you guys; you guys are so generous. I ask if you guys can include your email address with the letters/care packages it would make it easier for the guys to get back with you and say thank you. Thank you to all the teachers and their students who have sent letters and packages, the letters from the kids are always fun to read.

You guys have been great with the snacks, keep them coming. The guys/gals really love the CLIFF Bars, Power Bars, and powdered Gatorade / Propel mix that were sent out it helps them power through their workouts and is an added bonus because we cannot get that stuff on the ship. And you can never go wrong with candy, jerky, popcorn and trail mix. We are still trying to build up the MWR library with Movies and Games so any DVD's (new or used) and games (board games, card games, XBOX 360 games) will be greatly appreciated. Lastly if you can send any phone cards (ATT works best) for our sailors to be able to call home during the holidays that would be very much appreciated.

The weather has cooled off (a little), however a lot of guys are running low on work out clothes. Any "Under Armor" type t-shirts, shorts, compression shorts/shirts would be great. Any sizes from M-XL for shirts and S-L for shorts. Also any sports water bottles will come in handy, a lot of the ones we had are cracking.

I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the rest of your holiday season this year. Once again thank you all for all of the support you have given everyone on this ship and the others around the world.

Sorry for the delay in updating my profile. Sorry if I don't put this in the proper "blog format" please feel free to rearrange and edit as you see fit.

We have received several packages with books for our library, and a few care packages with snacks and hygiene products. And we just wanted to say thank you for your support.

The ship just celebrated its 2nd "birthday" and is still trying to build up the MWR library with Movies and Games. Any DVD's (new or used) and games (board games, card games, XBOX 360 games) will be greatly appreciated.

With Halloween (and eventually Thanksgiving, Christmas and New
Year) coming up it would be great to get some holiday related items to decorate our mess decks and lounge areas. Maybe some wall decorations and/or Christmas lights (UL safety rated please).

As far as snacks go, keep them coming. The guys/gals really loved the CLIFF bars and powdered Gatorade / Propel mix that were sent out. And you can never go wrong with candy, jerky, popcorn and trail mix.

With the weather still hot a lot of guys are running low on work out clothes. Any "Under Armor" type t-shirts, shorts, compression shorts/shirts would be great. Any sizes from M-XL for shirts and S-L for shorts.

Once again thank you all for all of the support you have given
everyone on this ship and the others around the world.

Hello I am a Principal Assistant in the Engineering Department of a US Navy Ship. I have several hard working people with a diverse background coming from all around the world and ages from 18-50. They work in the heart and soul of the ship where temps are always high and the noise is always loud. They are barley noticed by others unless something goes wrong. We are on the maiden deployment of a new ship and several of our guys/gals this is also their first deployment. Things we can use include: powdered drink mix (gatorade/koolaid/crystal light/etc.), on the go snacks (trail mix/cliff bars/nuts/pretzels/etc.), and of course any toiletry items (body wash, shampoo, tooth brushes/paste, soap). As far as nice to have things we have a few XBOX 360 consoles on board to help the Sailors relax on their "off" time and a small library for books. The ship is trying to build up its library, so any games or books that you can send (new or old) would be greatly appreciated. It's also hard to get batteries here. The most common size required is AA and AAA. Some nice to have gear are flashlights and sunglasses, as they always seem to find a way to break. Thank you for your time and we greatly appreciate your support.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!

Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!

Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.

Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor if your package is for a female!

DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"

(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.

(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.

(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan. You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)

New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
