Address Has Changed.

Well it's been nearly two months since my last update and I apologize for that. Things have been shifting around here quite a bit over this time frame and I have been traveling around to a few different locations where email and INTERNET weren't available.
Big news our group has changed locations. We have a brand new facility to work out and the walls have been upgraded from canvas to plywood. I will add pictures as I get settled in. Our address has had a couple of minor changes. In my absence Senior Chief Terry Green accepted and distributed my any Sailor/Soldier packages as mail didn't follow me on my travels. As always thank you for all of the support and your generosity. Again I apologize for my absence and lack of word on our work out here. I will again have access to update from this location, and I'm not scheduled to travel until we return home.

An Update for Edi.

The “Spring Fighting Season” is in full swing, which unfortunately means that business is steady for us. Some of the work we’ve done recently has brought about some media attention and reporters have been sent out to see what we do. The following links are the result of those visits.

We continue to get tremendous support through contacts utilizing the Any Soldier/Sailor site. Following today’s mail call I have a stack of thank-you email and letters to write. Mysel fand/ or my Sailors are interested in personally thanking all who support us. Mail has been very random as of late some things arrive 9 days after they were sent, some arrive in 6 weeks. Often two packages sent together will arrive weeks apart. If you sent packages or letters and haven’t heard from us, this is likely the reason. I’ll update our site soon with pictures, but for now it’s time I get to those thank-you’s.

An Update for Bravo Surgical Company:

We’ve been here for just a short time and already have received several wonderful care packages, and are very thankful. Things have been very busy; this group is doing great things out here and the support we are receiving from the folks using this site are certainly contributing to the high moral with this group. Things are still pretty cool as the weather goes, but the heat is right around the corner. I would be careful mailing anything that could melt after the next month. The group we replaced took real good care of us and left behind a lot of toiletries and fruit flavored drink mixes. Please include your email addresses if you send packages or letters so that I can thank you personally. If unavailable I will still write traditional letters and post cards, but it may take a bit longer to get to you. Thanks for your support!

We are a NAVY/MARINE surgical company operating in a remote are providing the support for lifesaving emergency and surgical care for those who won't make it to the established facilities. We are treating Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Local Country Military and Civilians. Living conditions are fairly austere; tents, field latrine (pvc tubes in gravel pits, and bag it yourself solid waste) One hot meal (T-rat) and mre's for meals. Too remote for exchange services. Water is pumped from well and filtered but taste usually requires modification with flavored mixes. Our group is largly augmented coming primarly from the east coast (Maryland, Florida, Rhode Island, Virgina, but the organic group comes from California. There is semistable generated power both 110(to support some medical equipment) and 220. We have a diverse group from E3-06 with an age range from 19-50's. The majority however lie in the mid 20's to early 30's. We are made up of Hospital Corpsmen, Nurses, PA's, ER Doctors, Surgeons, and Marine Motor-T support as well as Communications. Food(we have a few microwaves), humor, cigars, and other means to pass time and break away will be appreciated. For many in this group, this is a first deployment, and a break of the horrific we are seeing will be much appreciated. Although we come from many locations this is a very tight knit group your generosity will be shared by all(and likely many patients). It's fairly cold now, but we will be in country for the hot seasons mostly. Thanks for supporting.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT PRINT THIS PAGE!!!

Why? Because this list changes all the time due to unit movements, soldier transfers, or even soldier casualties.
It is also illegal. ALL content on this site is copyright Any Soldier Inc.
DO NOT send any letter or package to a soldier's address unless you check this web site the same day you mail your packages.
Please do not burden the soldiers or the APO/FPO by sending things when the soldiers are gone. If a soldier is not listed here anymore then that soldier's address is expired. Check here often!

Note that some of the units do not have ranks shown on their addresses.
This is done at the unit's request, but ALL of our contacts ARE Servicemembers.

Be sure to change the "ATTN" line to "ATTN: Any Female Sailor if your package is for a female!

DO NOT use this program if you expect or require a reply!
DO NOT expect, or require, a reply from a Sailor!
A supporter said it perfectly, "I mean, these guys and gals have other things on their minds, y’know? Like...oh, STAYING ALIVE?"

(NOTE *): Effective 1 May 2006 this web site added a major layer of security to our contacts' information. This change is necessary to protect our troops and ensure that Any Soldier will continue to operate.
The ONLY changes are that the addresses of our contacts are now hidden and the number of addresses you can get are limited. You may obtain addresses simply by clicking on the link provided and correctly filling out the form, the address will then be emailed to you immediately.

(NOTE **): The number shown is how many times a form was submitted requesting this address. This does NOT necessarily mean that this contact will be helped by that many folks. Rule of thumb is that anything 5 requests or less may in fact be no support at all. No way to tell exactly unless the contact lets you know in his/her update how much support they are getting.

(Note 1.): Note that postage to APO AE and FPO AE (E = Europe) is only to NY where the connection to the APO/FPO (APO = Army Post Office)(FPO = Fleet Post Office) is, or to San Francisco for APO AP and FPO AP (P = Pacific), so you don't pay postage all the way to Iraq/Afghanistan. You might consider picking contacts closer to your mailing area to help cut the cost of mailing. If you live on the East Coast, pick "AE", West Coast, pick "AP", Midwest, well...uh, Thank You for your Support! ;)

New with us (December 2005) you might notice "APO AA" and "FPO AA". This is for units in the Caribbean/South America. Normally. However, due to the nature of some units they may be in Iraq but have an address showing "FPO AA". Mail addresses to "AA" goes out of Miami, Florida.

(Note 2.): Why are military addresses weird? There isn't a street address or city. What gives? Correct, just about everything about the military is weird to civilians. Military units are very mobile, they move around a lot, often they even become part of another unit. The APO (Army Post Office) and FPO (Fleet Post Office) assign APO and FPO numbers as needed, they are NOT static. An APO/FPO number may be for a large unit, or a location. An APO/FPO number for Baghdad today may be for Frankfurt tomorrow.

(Note 3.): The "Expect to not mail past" date is only an approximate and is one of the least reliable things on this web site. It is because of this that you must check often before you send anything to this unit. There are a few reasons this date is not reliable, to include: it IS the Military, we ARE dealing with the APO/FPO/DPO. The only thing that does not change in the military is that things will change. PLEASE NOTE that a Contact is dropped off our active list 30 days PRIOR to their date leaving to help avoid mail bouncing.

(Note 4.): (Removed for OPSEC reasons)

(Note 5.): The lines, "Contact with approx number of Soldiers:" and "Approx how may Female Soldiers:" have NOTHING to do with unit strength. They are approximately how many other Troops the Contacts believe they can get packages to. This helps you understand that you should not send 100 packages to someone who only deals with 10 Troops.
Don't forget that if your package is for a female Soldier, be sure to change "ATTN: Any Soldier®" to "ATTN: Any Female Soldier".

( Note 6.): This is simply where the unit this contact is from. This is NOT a true picture of the folks in the unit as most all units are made up of folks from all over the United States.) A "Composite Unit" is one made up of other units and is usually temporary for a particular mission.

( Note 7.): Updated APO/FPO/DPO mailing restrictions> courtesy of Oconus.com (gone now) (Note: About Restriction "U2": "U2 - Limited to First Class Letters", Box "R" is for retired personnel that live overseas and are still authorized an APO/FPO box. Their address will be something like Box 3345R. Doubt you will see anything like that in Afghanistan or Iraq or ...)(Please Note: Sometime in August 2013, Oconus.com changed the code on their page and our form doesn't work with them anymore, so a link to their page is the best we can do, sorry.)
